Rainbow Feathers

HELLO and WELCOME to "Rainbow Feathers"....my very own, little, cyber Bird Sanctuary. I guess I don't need to tell you, how much I adore these beautiful, feathery creatures and how much they mean the world to me!!!
I love my parrots and I hope to collect many more as time goes by...well I'd rather get them sooner than later or they'll all out-live me and that would be way too sad for me, ....below are pics of some of the fids I currently have....2 x Red-Rumped parrots (Hunter and Casey) and 4 x Indian Ringnecks (Mulder, Scully, Doggett and Reyes)....and yes, they are all males (in the Red-Rumps, I prefer the male's colours (normal - not the mutations), ringies mutations are too beautiful to just keep one...and so in order for them to all get along and squabble less, I thought males would work out better.....plus if I can minimize birdie health problems like egg-binding etc...well, everybody wins :o) I did also have another parrot who recently died (18-04-08), Pinchy, a Green Cheek Conure - I have left his pictures on this page aswell...RIP Pinchy.
Once I get more space and be able to build my own outside aviaries and indoor bird-rooms...there are a few birds I'd like as pairs and perhaps breed them but for now...I like my bunch of guys. PLEASE THINK !!
No matter how hard you try, no matter how much effort you put in, presenting your aviaries or cages, no matter how well you nourish your beautiful parrots ....no bird will ever look as good, as it does, when it's wild and free, immersed by it's natural environment/habitat...and what a beautuful sight it is to see....unfortunatelly...this is dissappearing at a very fast rate....and future generations, even today's, may never be able to witness such natural beauty ever again........many birds are dissappearing along with their habitat... ie. the beautiful Macaws......or wild African Grey Parrots are being captured and sold ...and these birds don't usually survive. This is very sad.
Humans can and do, terrible things to animals, terrible, torterous and cruel things...not only to the animals but also to our planet .....but we, as humans, also have the power to stop this. Education and compassion wouldn't go astray.
Please, please, please....THINK about your daily actions...think about what you are buying or paying for, think about what actions you are about to take, think about what you are throwing out or pouring down the drain, think about the chain reaction, think about the animals, think about the environment.....think about your children, think about your childrens' children and their future !!!!
Remember, when acquiring a new pet/aviary bird(s)...make sure they are from reputable sources, preferably a registered breeder....many birds captured from the wild, are being sold to bird lovers without their
knowledge or awareness of this.....This all contributes to the extinction and cruelty of these beautiful creatures !
So PLEASE, think and act..........on behalf of the animals and trees......PLEASE!!!
